The desert is a beautiful place to live and to visit. Whether you choose
Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Cathedral City, Indian Wells, La
Quinta, Indio or Thermal, there are fabulously spectacular places to live
and visit. There are private homes on golf courses, there are small
condominiums, large condos and incredible desert rentals. If you want a
private home in Palm Springs with a secluded swimming pool, a condo with a
recreation area, pool and hot tub or you may even wasn't to consider living
there and making it your permanent home. As you go into the desert, Palm
Springs is the first village you come to off of Highway #111. Everything to
the South is considered really prime property. Especially the old Las
Palmas area in Palm Springs. This is where the movies stars home were in
the 30's, 40's, and 50's and even today. There are many famous architects
that designed get always for the stars that today are considered prime
property. Architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright, and other moderns designed
classic homes in the Las Palmas area. Movie stars such as Frank Sinatra,
Clark Gable, Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Ester Williams, Dinah Shore,
Bob Hope, and many others have homes there. President Eisenhower, President
Gerald Ford, Lee Iacoca, Bill Gates, Hop Along Cassidy, and many other
celebrities live and have lived there. As we move further East on #111 you
come to Cathedral City. Going East then there is Rancho Mirage and the
beautiful River Shopping Center. Also many beautiful interior decorating
stores, expensive car sales lots and fabulous restaurants dot the terrain.
The we arrive in Palm Desert with very classic country clubs, gold courses,
and the famous El Paseo shopping avenue. It rivals fifth avenue in New
York, Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, and Michigan Avenue in Chicago with such
stores as Tiffany's, Cartier, Saks Fifth Avenue, St. Johns, Escada, Kreiss,
and many more. Restaurants include L.G's steak house, Ruth Chris Steak
House and the famous breakfast house Elmer's. People come from around the
world to visit Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta and all of
the new desert cities. They come to play gold, tennis, shop, dine, sun
bathe, and just relax in the desert sun. La Quinta, home of the PGA gold
tournament is a massive housing development that is tucked away in the
mountains of La Quinta. Growth of the desert is definitely headed in an
Easterly direction. Real estate is still available to the average person as
far as price goes however the baby boomers are retiring and will undoubtedly
retire to the Palm Spring, Palm Desert, Indian Wells and La Quinta area.
Expect to see a lot of growth in the desert in the very near future
